I Bet You’d Never Guess..

That you can totally elevate your dining room with items from Amazon and Wayfair! Yes that is right, this formal dining room that I designed for a client actually has affordable items but you’d never guess it just by looking. I absolutely love finding expensive items for less because it’s always a shocker to my family whenever I ask them to “guess how much this was” and they guess a ridiculously high number and I get to laugh and tell them just how LOW it was. Not only do I love shopping on Amazon and Wayfair but I can literally get lost in Home Goods all day. Every time I walk into that store, I swear I come back out with way more items on my list! How about you? Are there any stores that you love that you can find some cheap hidden treasures?

Whenever I am designing a space for a client, I always like to start out by creating a mood board or color scheme board. This will give me an idea of what kind of direction I am going with. With this dining room, I wanted to stick with neutral tones and add the pops of color in accent fabrics and textures.

The next thing I like to do is come up with a floor plan. This will give me an idea of where everything is going before I start to source items. By creating the floor plan, this also lets me know how many of each item I may need or if that item I have been eyeing actually even fits within the space. It’s always better to know how much room you are working with before getting excited shopping for items that may not even fit. Measure your room first! Then shop after.
